The future of superconductivity and nuclear fusion

SupraFusion, co-piloted by CEA and CNRS, is a scientific and technological exploration program aimed at revolutionizing the field of high-temperature superconductors (HTS).
With a budget of 50 million euros over seven years, this ambitious project is part of the France 2030 plan and aims to meet the major energy and societal challenges of our time.

A visionary program

High-temperature superconducting magnets

Development of materials capable of operating at higher temperatures (77 K) while generating ultra-powerful magnetic fields (up to 30 teslas).

Nuclear fusion

A decisive step towards more compact and efficient reactors thanks to HTc superconductors.

Rupture application

These advances could transform sectors such as medical imaging, power grids and green mobility.
